Design and installation of automated gates and barriers
Action Security Systems are the main agents in Ireland for the Nice ® range of gate and barrier automation products. Automatic gates, coupled with a video intercom system or CCTV system, are a very effective way to keep unwanted visitors from your home and family. We can add automation to your existing double gates, sliding gate, garage door or barrier.
Safety measures of automated gates and barriers
Safety is our top priority when designing a gate system. Our systems come with safety features such as photocells. These photocells are fitted on the gate pillars or posts and operate by a beam of invisible light. If this beam be broken by a person, animal or other object when the gate is closing, it will automatically open again.
For safety reasons it is strongly recommended that you should always visually ensure there are no children/persons/pets/objects within the swing/opening or closing area of the gate when opening or closing and that you do not leave the area until the opening/closing cycle is complete.
Depending on the type of motor fitted extra safety features such as an electronic clutch are included, which has an anti-crush sensor that can detect if something is caught between the gates and will stop closing immediately.
Design of automated gates and barriers
The type and size of gate will generally dictate the type of system that will be required for automation. The motors are built underground in a concealed embedding box making them almost invisible; this is particularly important in domestic installations where unobtrusiveness is required. For wider gates, we fit surface mounted arms fitted to the gates. Sliding gates require gear driven motors and we can automate sliding gates weighing from 600 kg right up to 3500 kg. Sliding gate systems include the Robo, Robus, Thor and Tub.
Convenience features of automated gates and barriers
Automated gates can be controlled in many ways – remote control, code operated keypad, key-switch, intercom system, swipe card, proximity fob or a push button located in a secure location.
All our gate systems come with a manual override key to enable the gate to be opened in the event of a mains power failure or if a malfunction develops e.g. a dead battery in a
remote control unit.
Selected systems have the added benefit of battery backup so that even if the mains power fails, the gate will still operate.
